2.  2. The spatial structure of the genetic code

The idea of existence of the spatial structure for the genetic code appeared soon after the establishment of assignments between triplets of a code and amino acids encoded by them [10]  and was first implemented in the model [11]. However, neither this model nor other models can not be considered successful. Only in the 90s of last century this idea has received adequate embodiment [1-5].

The structure of the genetic code associated with the position of the triplets and their encoded amino acids within the genetic code as a whole system is possible to subdivide into the structures of doublet and triplet code. The fact that the doublet code can be identified as one of the levels of code is related to coding features and the degree of degeneracy of the genetic code. Two-dimensional code model clearly represents these patterns - rhombic variant of genetic dictionary. It is with this model, we begin our excursion into a kingdom of the structure of the genetic code (section 2.1.).
